new york-isms

I am realizing that I have been here in the city a whole year now... and it kind of blows my mind to think that my nomadic lifestyle is over. (Well, I did do summer stock so I guess I wasn't here for the full year technically...) Anyway... things I have learned about living in NYC...
When the subway is about to leave you have to shift your weight in the opposite direction the than the train is going so that you don't fall all over the person next to you.
The Uptown trains are on the west side of any major street (the down town trains are on the east).
If you need weird random costume pieces go to the Ricky's on 23rd street in Chelsea.
The salvation army on 46th street is the best in the city... no lie.
The best NY style pizza is at Ray's Pizza. I especially love their white pizza... Mmmmm! greasy pizza!
In NY they can and will deliver anything! I Heart Fresh Direct.
New Yorkers are in general snobs and I love it.
If you want to cross the street look for someone else who looks as busy as you are and cross behind them... no waiting for traffic! are you kidding? that could take forever!
A new york minute = how long it takes your barista at Starbucks to make your overpriced coffee drink.
Bagels are the best meal in the world... who came up with this? I want to kiss them!
The best way to get a cab is to be carrying a ton of bags or a large suitcase... which i seem to do constantly.
Oh NYC, how I missed you when i was trapped in the midwest!
